Meet Our Ambassador: N1C0l3T
Part of our new ongoing series, Meet Our Ambassadors!
What do you do / where have your travels taken you?
In 2017 we travelled all over, California, Oregon, I went to Washington for the first time, Utah, New York, and Florida. I also went to Germany for Oktoberfest and did an amazing road trip through Austria and Italy to Slovenia for a packrafting trip. That was my first time seeing that part of Europe and I can’t wait to go back!
What's your favorite thing about the Nanopresso?
I love the Nanopresso because of it’s size. I literally bring it everywhere I go, from camping, to RVing, to hotel travel (I’ve found that 90% of hotels have awful coffee, and some don’t have any coffee makers at all!) But I also use it multiple time a day at home as my main coffee maker. I think for me it’s about drinking a quality cup of espresso and saving money. My favorite place to bring the Nanopresso is the ski mountain because I always need coffee half way through the day and using the Nanopresso means I can grab some hot water from the lodge and I carry a few capsules with me so I can make fresh hot espresso for free! And it’s a way better cup than I could buy at the resort! I also do long 35 hour drives across country (without stopping) so I always have it in the car and I can go to a drive through at a fast food establishment, grab some hot water and make espresso right in my car!
What's the coolest place you've made a Nanopresso?
The coolest place I’ve had a Nanopresso espresso was at the top of a trad climb in Colorado. My buddy clipped the minipresso and case to his harness, carried it up and at the end of the climb we used an isobutane camp stove to boil some water and enjoyed an espresso at the top. It’s an awesome reward.
What are your plans for 2018?
Now I have a goal to keep upping my espresso game. I’m trying to see how many rad places I can drink espresso this year. It’s funny hiking to the top of a 14,000ft mountain and pumping an espresso, everyone starts smelling it and looking around asking “is someone making coffee up here?!” I love to share so I think it makes their day when I can say “Yea! Would you like a cup?” And people are always pretty amazed when you say you have an espresso machine in your pocket!
